DRECK
ANAHI ORTIZ
TWO POEMS
.
we are pitted against each other,
knots and threads,
weaving and weaving,
unresolved,
a scheme to be undone and redone,
ongoing and unfinished
..
i am looking for gentle spirits
all i find is brashness and foolishness
perhaps that's me
i am looking for gentleness
everywhere i go
...
skin dry as a prune
a truck left to caught fire
exhaustive contemplation
without end or beginning
silence ensues, permeates
fumes everywhere
the words slip from under me
they tremble
as if under flight
airy
or
porous
all the contradictions exist within
floating by
at the whims of the currents
here and there
shifting, shifting, shifting
a miracle to hold steady for once
holding its shape
dissolving
running its course
