DRECK
BILLY LAMBENT
VALENTINE'S DAY (SONNET)
Summoning the Codependence angel
Before the love-suicide; Before dawn;
Fields of black ice, garden-concealed;
L'ature-ing ourselves; a kind of death—
Kind Of. Me & you always kind-of,
Not-all-there, two theories of one color,
Imperceptible. Caesuras of white,
Worshipping shadows, in windowless rooms.
But by scent, by sight, by song; whatever
Byways the enigma of us fucks up
The ravishments of Eternal Heaven;
Our beauty-bound-up: hell, lamictal.
Life.
My love, we're like moths crushed beneath stampedes
Of Light. Two myths aflame, as time recedes.
